Install the Times New Roman font.
I assume you are using Linux as that font comes with windows and I
believe either comes with Mac OS X or some MS software common on Mac OS
X.

Personally I think AbiWord on Linux should default to one of the
Bitstream Vera fonts that every distro has now, but I think they want
consistency over operating systems?

The font was distributed by MS under a license that allowed non
commercial non physical media redistribution by other people.

One place where you can get it:

wget
http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/corefonts/times32.exe

You have to extract it with cabextract

If you want all the "MS core web fonts" - I have a shell script that
will get them all and install all of them.

You can get it from
wget http://mpeters.us/tplinux/coreweb_font_installer.sh.gz

uncompress it and run it (not as root) - and it will install the fonts
in your ~/.fonts directory (or create an rpm if you want)
