Re Writing Ancient Greek (Revisited)

Hi,

 I think that perhaps I have expressed myself poorly in a recent
question concerning the writing of Ancient Greek in AbiWord 2.4.5
under Xubuntu 6.10.

 I am able to write and read Greek text in AbiWord by enabling a Greek
keyboard, and I am aware that there are some excelent Greek fonts
available to me online. But what I am really after is a better method
of writing the Ancient Greek breathing marks, accents and iota
subscripts. Using the 'Insert Symbol' method is more than a little
cumbersome for pages and pages of text :-)

 I suspect that what I am after is a proper Ancient Greek Keyboard
Layout which perhaps is not available?
