No way to run abiword

I just downloaded the latest version of abiword and there's no way to start it! Its not in the program list. There's no shortcut on the desktop. There's no file in the file list to start it! How am I supposed to start it??? There's nothing in the help on how to make a shortcut! Why is that?? This is the most basic stuff! Why isn't it here??
