You have reported below that these three functions are performed
flawlessly in your LinuxMINT

I have tried Abiword 2.4.x, and 2.6.3 in Ubuntu Hardy. Both Abiword
versions had all three problems I describe below. I also tried Abiword
2.4.x and 2.6.2 in Puppy Linux. And the same problems were there also.

The fact that it may work in LinuxMINT is not very reassuring for me, as
I do not use that OS. Because Ubuntu is used by so very many people, I
would think it important to ensure Abiword works properly there. And
Puppy Linux is again one of the more commonly used OS's these days. So
the fact that Abiword is not working properly in these OS's is
sufficient, I believe, to suggest that something should be done about
it.
