I got about the same, but there is a previous error:

gr_UnixPangoGraphics.cpp: In destructor 'virtual GR_UnixPangoGraphics::~GR_UnixPangoGraphics()':
gr_UnixPangoGraphics.cpp:335: error: 'pango_fc_font_map_cache_clear' was not declared in this scope

that looks to me like missing Pango headers or too old Pango version.
