Re: page numbering

Thanks for the tip on how to insert complex page numbering. Much
appreciated.

I experienced other difficulties. The manuscript is double spaced and
has long footnotes, and this seems to have overwhelmed Abiword
(largely empty pages, chunks of footnote disappear, a crash that
wiped out marked up text not yet saved, etc.) As a result, I've
reverted to TeX, which I find easier to mark up than Abiword for some
reason. I hope my publisher can deal with TeX. Or perhaps convert
TeX to HTML, XML, or RTF.
