Nope, my X server's running at 24bit, not 8. For libpng, I'm running an
already built version (1.0.2), as opposed to the one available from
abisource.com.

If it helps, when it's run, it pops up an unadorned window (I'm guessing a
splash screen?), and a second "normal" window (ie, with borders). They
simply stay grey, however, as the SIGABRT comes before any drawing.
